mermaid technology entered the in-store TV market alongside Acrossmedia in 2004,
but mermaid’s experience goes years back. Over the course of just a few years, the organisation based in Vanloese, Denmark has managed to generate an impressive customer base. As a result, Acrossmedia’s future partner is not just a random market player. John Conrad Jensen – CEO of both Frontstairs and Acrossmedia – explains:

The fine print states that Frontstairs – the parent company behind Acrossmedia in Denmark – will gain a considerable stake in the new organisation, and will continue to work closely with it to supply both hardware and software. The acquisition does not involve the departments in Thailand and Taiwan, which will continue as independent sales subsidiaries. John Conrad Jensen will continue as CEO of the Frontstairs Group.
Daily operations will remain unchanged
Both organisations are characterised by high customer satisfaction, and wish to maintain this particular feature. Contacts will remain the same, and customers can expect the same high level of service as before. Tom Georgi, co-owner of Acrossmedia, explains:

International ambitions
Danish customers and collaborators will not experience noticeable differences in their dealings with Acrossmedia, as the main reason for the acquisition revolves around both organisations’ European-based ambitions. mermaid technology’s obvious desire to conquer markets abroad has played a significant part in the decision to acquire Acrossmedia. As a result, the acquisition is an important step for Acrossmedia in its quest to conquer Scandinavian and Northern European markets, and is a clear indication of strength – also in relation to our clients’ own ambitions in the European market.
